FedEx Saturday Delivery and Pickup Fees 2026: $16 Per Package and Other Weekend Charges
Shipping for a business? FedEx charges the Saturday delivery fee even if the recipient is closed, so Saturday flags on business shipments are worth reviewing. 2026 FedEx rate: Saturday Delivery is $16 per package for FedEx First Overnight, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight and 2Day. Packages picked up on Saturday on those services also pay a $16 Saturday Expedited Processing Fee, up to $112 per shipment, plus any pickup fee.

Quick answer: FedEx Express can deliver and pick up on Saturdays for an extra charge. Saturday delivery costs $16 per package. Shipping on a Saturday adds a separate $16 per package processing fee on Express services, plus the cost of the pickup itself. FedEx charges the Saturday delivery fee even if the recipient asked for a later delivery or turns out to be closed.

Saturday flags left on by default, or applied to businesses that are closed on weekends, are a common source of wasted spend. A carrier invoice audit finds them.

2026 rates: FedEx Service Guide, effective January 5, 2026 (updated September 11, 2026). Amounts are list rates before fuel surcharge.

When You Pay Even Without a Saturday Delivery

The FedEx Service Guide says that if FedEx does not deliver or attempt delivery on Saturday because the shipper or recipient asked for a later delivery, or told FedEx the recipient is closed Saturday, the Saturday delivery fee is still charged. If the miss is an unexcused FedEx service failure, the FedEx Money-Back Guarantee may apply instead.

FedEx vs. UPS Saturday Delivery

UPS also charges about $16 per package for Saturday delivery on its air services. One difference: FedEx Home Delivery and FedEx Ground deliver to many residential addresses on Saturdays as part of their normal schedule without a separate Saturday fee. For residential customers who need weekend delivery, Ground or Home Delivery may get there on Saturday at no extra charge, depending on location. See the UPS Saturday Delivery guide.

How to Avoid Unnecessary Saturday Fees

  • Don’t flag business addresses for Saturday delivery unless you know they’re open. You’ll pay the fee even if they’re closed.
  • Check software defaults. Saturday delivery is sometimes left on in shipping profiles, especially for Friday overnight shipments.
  • Ship Friday on Ground for residential weekend delivery where transit times allow.
  • Avoid Saturday Express pickups when a Friday or Monday pickup meets the deadline. The $16 per package processing fee adds up quickly on multi-package shipments.
  • Use drop-off. Dropping Saturday shipments at a FedEx location avoids pickup fees.
